The Building Connections Auction helps support the mission and programs of Albany UU while strengthening relationships across the congregation. Through shared meals, gatherings, experiences, and acts of service, the auction creates opportunities to connect, laugh, and build community.

Funds raised through the auction support the ongoing work of the church each year.

Donation Phase

The Building Connections Auction is now accepting donations. Each contribution helps support Albany UU while creating meaningful opportunities for connection across our community.

We welcome a wide range of offerings, including hosted meals, outdoor activities, family events, homemade foods, services, workshops, tickets, and unique experiences. If you are looking for inspiration, please visit the Ideas for Donations page for examples and suggestions.

Please submit each donation separately using the online form. Include a clear description, an image if available, and any scheduling details participants will need.

Creative ideas are always welcome. Your donation may provide someone with a new friendship, a memorable experience, or an opportunity to try something new.

Sandy’s jam has become legendary in our house, as has Tany’s homemade Danish. The auction makes even the simplest of exchanges memorable.

I have had the pleasure of participating in the Albany UU auction both as a provider of an event and as a participant. I’ve met new friends and joined both new and old acquaintances. I hope to continue to share these experiences and urge everyone to just try it!

Pat B.

The auction gives us the opportunity to host fun events for my favorite Albany UU community members! Even better is when someone I don’t know as well comes to our home . . . a wonderful chance to expand our circle of friends.

Randy R.

The UU auction is one of my favorite Albany UU events! Through the donation and purchase of auction items which support the church’s budget, I have made lasting connections with many congregants. And I have had a great time doing so at social events, as a recipient of household and yard help, and providing services to others.

A Note About Physical Items

Because the Building Connections Auction focuses on experiences and community-building, paintings, antiques, and other objects often do better at in-person events such as the Bazaar or Silver Bay auctions, where participants can view them in person.

Creative ideas are always welcome. Your donation may provide someone with a new friendship, a memorable experience, or simply a chance to spend time with others in our community.
